Membership
Full membership in the German Association of English Studies is open to everyone who holds a PhD in English Studies. Early career researchers from German-speaking countries who have not yet completed their doctorate, as well as members of associations from non-German-speaking countries, can apply for associate membership.
Benefits of Membership:
  • Membership in the European Society for the Study of English (ESSE)
  • Invitations to major ESSE conferences (additional conference fees apply)
  • Mailing lists providing timely information on job openings and Calls for Papers
Please note:
The member file is managed by the treasurer. Affairs of membership (change of address, change of account details, change of status: associate/full membership; Joining or leaving, etc.) should therefore always be addressed to the treasurer. (Email: ed.dnabrevkitsilgna@retsiemztahcs)

Membership Fees

Full Membership

Annual fee of €70 for members with PhD.

Reduced Membership

Upon request, the fee can be reduced to €30 for retirees and academics without a university position.

Associate Membership

Annual fee of €30 for early career researchers and members of associations from non-German-speaking countries.
